Wuppertal

The Buddhist Center Wuppertal was founded in 1979 by Lama Ole Nydahl. This makes it one of the oldest Diamond Way sites here in the west. Many high lamas like Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, S.H. the 14th Shamarpa, Lama Jigmel Rinpoche and many others have visited this special place and performed important ceremonies. Lopön Tsechu Rinpoche, a high lama from Nepal, with the active help of the center, built a stupa in the Center's garden in 1995, which symbolizes enlightenment.
