Melitopol

The Diamond Way Center Melitopol in Ukraine was founded by Lama Ole Nydahl and is under the spiritual direction Thale Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa.

The first Karma Kagyu Buddhists appeared in Melitopol in 1991/92, and with the arrival of Lama Ole Nydahl in Melitopol in 1993, a meditation group of 10-12 people was established.

In 1995, Lama Ole Nydahl and Lama Lopen Tsechu Rinpoche visited Melitopol with the participation of the center. Lama Ole Nydahl gave a lecture in town. A meeting was organized with the center where people could communicate with the Lama and get answers to their questions. In addition, the first practice of Buddhism in Melitopol city had the opportunity to meet one of the most famous masters of Buddhism - Lopen Tsechu Rinpoche. After a rich program in Melitopol in the Crimea on Mount Chatyr-Dag, we organized a course in which Lopen Tsechu Rinpoche gave a special initiation on Milarepa, which was attended by more than 300 people.

In 2000 Lama Ole Nydahl visited us again during a tour through the centers. So he was able to visit the new premises of the center acquired a year earlier. Since then the Melitopol Center operates in this place. It is open every day.
