Altmühle
The current 20 members of our Buddhist center are living in Altmühle, in Osthofen and in the surrounding area. In addition to the regular mediations, we set up the Buddhist center on a voluntary basis and also offering it as a retreat place for all Diamond Way practitioners. We receive valuable support from the surrounding Buddhist centers. In addition to regular weekend programs with lectures and meditations, there are also special events such as exhibitions or matinees. In recent years, part of the courtyard building has been renovated and made usable. We continue to work to create more space for new roommates and visitors.
The beautiful square courtyard from the 19th century was given as a gift to Lama Ole Nydahl and the Diamond Way Buddhist Foundation in 2005. The center was inaugurated in 2006. In addition to Lama Ole Nydahl and his late wife Hannah Nydahl, we were also visited by Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche, Jigme Rinpoche and other Buddhist teachers.
